Federal Government Benefits Specialist
This position is a one year contract with the federal government. The purpose of this position is to articulate a clear and detailed understanding of Veteran and Federal Government benefits. This contractor shall have a thorough knowledge, understanding and demonstrated experience of Veteran and Federal Government benefit programs, unemployment compensation, Long-Term Care, cost of living adjustments, Thrift Savings Plan and financial planning. Determine benefits appropriate for new, transferring and/or incumbent staff, provide advice and guidance for resolution of concerns or issues identified by staff or management, prepare narrative reports to document cases, cite regulatory references and recommend action for resolution of problems, research and interprets guidelines, regulations and directives concerning complex and controversial benefits and entitlement cases. This position requires knowledge of MDCPDS and requires previous experience in the federal government preferably within HR. Candidate must be a US Citizens and pass a background check to obtain a security clearance if current clearance is not active.
