Environmental Programmer/Analyst/Data Jock
At Abt Associates, you will have the opportunity to contribute to emerging environmental policy research and program support, develop your analytical and programming skills, and be challenged by your colleagues and work. Abt Associates is seeking staff who have quantitative skills, programming skills, science background, and are proven to be good creative thinkers and good writers.
The ideal candidate would have a diverse knowledge base, with background in database design/analysis and computer programming, as well as experience or interest in environmental policy. A successful candidate will be an active part of an experienced, multi-disciplinary (and fun!) team working for U.S. EPA clients. Duties may include accessing EPA regulatory databases and non-EPA databases; using statistical software and database software to analyze data and profile specific industries, facilities, and geographic regions; analyzing trends; documenting methodology; writing text reports; and generating tables, maps, and charts to convey results.
Requirements: B.S. in environmental engineering, environmental sciences, computer sciences, math or engineering. Ability to write well.
We are looking for candidates with experience in one or more of the following: web programming (HTML/JavaScript/Perl/PHP), database design, database access, statistical packages (e.g., SAS), and spreadsheet design. Knowledge of EPA regulations, and environmental issues is a plus.
Please submit your resume with "Job Req #4249" in the subject line to envrjobs@abtassoc.com . A cover letter explaining what you are looking for in your next job and your professional interests is also very helpful to us. Abt Associates is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to fostering a diverse, multicultural environment.
