Portfolio Manager, Corporate & Institutional Lending

Brief Description:


The successful candidate shall effectively utilize available time and resources to complete, in a timely manner, special projects assigned by management. S/he must have the ability to properly organize and prioritize the work flow to maintain satisfactory customer service. S/he must also analyze financial, industry, loan structure, and other information to correctly assess the credit risk associated with various borrowers and facilities. The candidate will need to be able to interface with internal examiners as well as external regulators. This individual will be required to successfully balance the safety needs of the Bank with the relationship needs of other areas of Merrill Lynch.

 Job Responsibilities:


Specific duties would include but not be limited to:

Manage the loan closing process

? Coordination of efforts among several various Merrill Lynch (ML) departments

? Prepare approval documents for the C&I loan portfolio

? Ensure that the appropriate lending policies and procedures have been followed

? Coordinate loan documents with legal counsel and negotiate required changes

? Interface with the Operations group to ensure that loan information contained in the Bank's loan system is accurate

? Interact with individuals within Merrill Lynch as well as the Banks counterparties

Credit Monitoring of existing of existing borrowers

? Acquisition and review of financial statements

? Review of Compliance Certificates

? Regular review and analysis of news items and research reports

? Participation in various lender meetings



 

Qualifications:


Requirements:

? BA in Finance or Accounting

? Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

? Credit Underwriting experience and skills

? Understanding of sound lending practices

? Ability to multitask and manage time effectively

? Excellent computer skills, (Microsoft Office suite)

? Ability and willingness to occasionally travel
