Financial Business Analyst

Mercer Advisors is currently seeking a Business Analyst that will report directly to the CEO. 

 

Responsibilities include:
Creating extensive models to predict business performance and results in connection with current operations, strategic ventures and new services.Evaluating modeling outcomes, identifying possible issues, making recommendations and being able to support their conclusions.Providing economic and financial analyses to support investment decisions.Will be instrumental in the development of budgets, rates, and comprehensive schedules.Able to effectively communicate alternative scenarios and findings to the executive team.Interacting with executive team to accurately answer inquiries and proactively identifying and reporting potential issues.Proactively pursuing opportunities to improve efficiencies and recommending process improvements.

 

A few representative work assignments are listed below:Preparing financial/budget models by department or cost centerModeling revenue streamsAnalyzing cost allocations and developing appropriate allocation basesAssisting in the preparation of budgetsIntegrating approved budgets to the accounting general ledger


General Requirements:

To be considered for this position you must possess a Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration (MBA Degree a plus) and have 5 or more years experience in business analysis and spreadsheet modeling in Finance or Accounting positions.  “Big Four” consulting experience preferred.


Essential Requirements:Extensive business modeling skills; the ability to create and manage complex Excel spreadsheets is essential.Ability to work effectively with partners, top executives and staff at all levels.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to quickly learn the organization’s structure, business processes and systems, financial drivers and financial metrics.Ability to visualize the end result while designing a model.Attention to detail and accuracy.Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize.Willingness and ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines in a fast-moving business.Ability to multi-task and work independently.Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.Ability to communicate effectively with partners and staff at all levels.
