Senior Financial Analyst

Capital One is seeking a financial professional to be an integral member of Capital One's Strategic Finance, in the field of economic capital assessment and allocation.

Economic capital allocation is a critical component of risk governance and shareholder-value-based management. The determined level of economic capital is used by business lines for decision-making, forecasting and performance measurement. The Economic Capital Group (ECG) maintains overall responsibility for the development of economic capital allocation methodology. As an integral member of Economic Capital Group, the candidate will have opportunities for interactions with various business lines and other corporate functions (e.g. Treasury, Corporate Planning).

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include, but would not be limited to:
1) Work with team members to conduct the annual economic capital updates
2) Research new methodology when new asset classes come up
3) Work with LOBs and Corporate Planning to implement the capital rates in BLR and NPV models
4) Maintain and update documentation for modeling methodologies
5) Report capital adequacy on regular basis
6) Effectively managing multiple tasks independently to meet deadlines
7) Working independently and the ability to actively participate in team oriented efforts
8) Serve as a key contact for equity rate related questions

Required Skills:
Required:

1) Highly motivated individual with demonstrated personal initiative and drive toward results
2) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
3) Strong communication skills (written and oral) and adaptability to change
4) Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access
5) Attention to detail
6) 2-3 years experience in financial services or a related field
7) BS in an analytical discipline (accounting, finance, economics, statistics, and math, etc)

Preferred:
2-3 years experience in financial services or corporate finance roles
Candidates with Engineering backgrounds and strong skills in statistics is a plus
