Senior Budget Analyst

NewVectors, a subsidiary of Altarum, is looking for a Senior Budget Analyst to provide analysis and financial management support in developing and executing the information technology budget for a major defense agency. Excellent financial analysis skills and ability to speak and write effectively are essential.



As Budget Analyst, you will be responsible for Providing Budget development and execution support to a major defense agency.

 

This includes -


Budget Development: Provide all necessary analysis and documentation to support annual program budget submission and Program Objective Memorandum (POM) development in accordance with DOD Financial Management Regulations, preparation instructions and /or directives. Support staffing and coordination of budget and POM submissions with internal and external stakeholders. Review Defense Authorization and Appropriation Acts, Management Initiative Decisions (MIDs) and Program Budget Decisions (PBDs) for budget impacts. Prepare briefing charts and impact statements in response to budget mark-ups.



Budget Execution: Track and report on FTE projections and actuals; Prepare any budget-related briefing charts; Monitor capital asset reporting. Experience tracking projections, commitments, obligations, expenses, disbursements and/or preparing monthly spending plan is a plus.



We are looking for someone with at least 4 years of related budget/financial work experience. Work experience and proficiency in MS Office suite, especially Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential. Attention to detail and organizational skills are a must. Familiarity with the DOD PPBS process (planning, programming, budgeting system) is essential. Excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills are required; position requires continuous daily interaction with customer and other staff. Ability to work independently in direct support of Government client is key. U.S. citizenship is required.
