Section Manager- Trade Management
The Operations Section Manager II will be responsible for the management and direction of a specific function within the Operations Line of Business. This individual will have direct oversight of high volume activity, consistently complex issues and/or high level risk and exposure items that have a significant impact on the achievement of the objectives of the department and potentially the Operations Division. This will include management of a group of employees who typically receive direct management from team specific supervisors.
Requirements:
Production - Ensure the smooth, effective operation of the function. This includes proper product delivery, proper escalation and resolution of high exposure items, maintaining the proper balance of cost, control and client service (3Cs), and maintaining proper standards and controls.
Control – In conjunction with the Department Manager, develop, maintain and achieve an integrated Business Plan for the function. An integrated Business Plan aligns the following in support of business goals and objectives: organizational structure, systems priorities, budget, management reporting, and job descriptions. The plan must support the business goals and objectives of the Division and Operations.
People - Develop employees by providing training, mentoring, performance management, succession planning as well as appropriately challenging assignments and assistance with career planning. This includes accountability for partnering with Human Resources on recruiting, hiring and orientation.
Process Improvement - Develop and maintain a culture of results-oriented, continuous, process improvement. This includes developing and achieving leap goals, challenging all processes, procedures and practices, and focusing on solutions (not “good reasons”). This culture must reach to all levels of the division and transcend the manager’s tenure in the job.
Client Service - Lead staff by setting high standards, providing a thoughtful approach, having a committed attitude, and by being an effective representative of BBH Operations.
Product Development – Ensure standard of suite of products is competitive, strategic, well defined and critical to our clients.
Qualifications:
BA/BS degree
5 – 7 years of Securities Processing, Financial Services and/or Transfer Agency experience
Proven people management and development skills
Proven ability to deliver on business plan
Proven ability to motivate team
Proven administrative, organizational and planning skills
Proven relationship and consensus building skills
Results orientation
Enthusiastic leadership skill, ability to engage others
