Junior Quantitative Analyst

The Boston Company Asset Management is seeking a Junior Quantitative Analyst who will be responsible for making a significant contribution to the firm's quantitative research effort, including: Designing, building and maintaining financial databases consisting of company, market, economic, benchmark and portfolio data. Working with Technology and Operations groups to assure timely updating and support of proprietary internal databases (MQA, Charter Oak, etc.) and accurate updating of firm data on vendor data systems (Thomson, Style Research, Barra, FactSet, etc.). Assuring consistency of handling of corporate actions and other data issues across platforms. Designing and coding stock selection factors and other company-specific data in MarketQA.  Investigating new factors, models and strategies to improve the investment processes.  Evaluating third-party data sources, models and software.

The successful candidate will have a BA/BS, preferably in economics, finance, statistics, computer science or other quantitatively oriented field, as well as programming and data management skills.  Candidate should have excellent communications skills and work well in a team environment.  Progress toward MBA/CFA preferred.  Prior work experience with accounting, financial or market data, databases, or analysis tools (FactSet, MarketQA, Baseline, Barra) and/or familiarity with statistical analysis packages (SAS, S-Plus, etc.) a plus.
