Financial Services Advisory Manager - Risk Technology - McLean-0043G

Description Ernst & Young's Financial Services Advisory (FSA) unit is a specialty advisory practice that provides integrated market, credit and operational risk management; operations improvement, business integration, and strategic cost management; and regulatory and treasury advisory services to financial institutions and other capital markets participants. FSA includes individuals who have industry, client and product knowledge as well as quantitative, regulatory, project management and technology professionals. Our teams work together to coordinate the delivery of risk management, regulatory and business performance services to a variety of clients, including commercial banks, investment banks, broker-dealers, asset managers, insurance and energy trading companies, and other organizations.

The Risk Technology Manager works directly with clients to create and apply technology approaches to business.

Responsibilities
Manage a team of risk management technology advisors through all phases of the technology life cycle. Lend particular subject matter knowledge to the design and integration phase of each project, helping to give specificity to the appropriate architecture, data model, and system design and interfacing requirements.

Team with client technology professionals and/or third party strategic alliances to provide implementation of technology.

Qualifications

To qualify, candidates must have:

* a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field; MBA or MS preferred
* a minimum of 6 years of experience working in the risk technology sector of the financial services industry, with at least 1 year spent in a managerial IT/business integration role
* demonstrated ability to manage and supervise a team of technology advisors through all phases of the technology life cycle, including requirements definition, architecture design, conversion and testing
* strong communication, presentation, client service and technical writing skills, coupled with a strong interest in further developing and integrating risk management knowledge with technology skills
* strong knowledge of and experience in supervising and executing all phases of the technology life cycle, based on proven project management and testing methodologies
* a deep knowledge of technical architecture design and a good understanding of technology tools and components to reasonably argue for and against all components (middleware, database, reporting tools, etc.) in that architecture

Successful candidates must also have the ability to travel approximately 30%-50%.
