Financial Analyst III

The PETSMART finance team is looking for someone with drive and enthusiasm to take on the role of Financial Analyst supporting the merchandising group.  The merchandising group is an exciting environment.  This job provides the opportunity to have an in-depth understanding of the products and profitability of those products by providing detailed analysis and insights on the business.  The position is focused on supporting the merchandising buyers with ad hoc analysis, budgeting and forecasting of sales and margin.

 

Responsibilities include:
Partner closely with merchandise buyers and provide insights on product performance and trending.
Building models to analyze data, explain variances and prepare presentations using Microsoft Excel/Access/Etc. 
Create annual budgets using trending information for sales and margin
Regularly update sales and margin forecasts to assist buyers and company with understanding potential direction.
Create reporting for the business to understand performance.

 

The candidate must have 2 to 5 years of experience.  Must be proficient in MS Excel and Access.  Must possess excellent communication and problem solving skills. Must be a high energy, ambitious, self-starter with the ability to multi-task and effectively manage priorities.  BA/BS in Finance or Accounting is required.

Must be a high energy, ambitious, self-starter with the ability to multi-task and effectively manage priorities.  BA/BS in Finance or Accounting is required (MBA or CPA a Plus).
