Business Analyst - BIO Direct

Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct front-end assessment, analysis, and elicitation of business requirements that reflect requirements for Nordstrom.com and the business stakeholders that manage it
Create functional use case and other analysis and design diagrams to illustrate sequence, flow or activities involved in an application or business process
Develop process flow diagrams, system interface diagrams, and detailed requirements documents that takes into account all impacted business systems, processes and functional areas
Identify and document functional requirements and partner with IT to identify and define the corresponding technical requirements
Analyze, define and evaluate existing business tools, processes and work flow
Gather & prioritize functionality changes
Identify and evaluate the business benefits of potential projects
Assess current, future, and industry standard best practices
Document final outcomes, and audit results that reflect accurate updates of final disposition and quality execution of request
Adhere to task based project plan, set timelines and consistently monitor adherence to milestones and deadlines
Partner with, and assist the Quality Assurance Group as requested to develop, document and execute project test plans for product build or enhancement
Contribute business expertise to logical and physical database design
Coordinate migration of projects from testing phase to production phase
Maintain enhancement and future phase documentation and prioritize for implementation
Perform other related duties as assigned



Required Skills and Abilities:
5+ years´ business analyst and relevant industry experience within an IT organization and/or educational equivalent
Experience gathering project requirements, creating detailed process flow diagrams, system interface diagrams and writing detailed requirements and/or functional specifications in response to complex business problems/opportunities
Ability to translate business information into concise requirements through a variety of techniques
Ability to communicate with both business and technology partners
Demonstrated ability to understand business issues or problems and web site usability constraints
Ability to identify, evaluates, and recommends systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements
Ability to do cost benefit analysis and assemble a business case
Capable of asking questions and challenging the status quo
Strong analytical skills and creative problem solving ability
Self-starter with strong customer focus, follow-through and solution orientation
Commitment to providing excellent customer service
Conduct business readiness assessments and provide consultation to system end-users
Ability to mentor, guide, and direct less experienced analysts
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to organize and coordinate efforts to meet project goals
Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, multi-project team or independently as the task dictates
May lead cross-functional teams to address business or systems applications issues and/or projects
Proficient in Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio)





Desired Skills and Experience:
Business process modeling, wire framing, story boarding, and use case development
Understanding of technology constraints on desired business functionality
Internet retail experience
Experience with Nordstrom Direct systems
Knowledge of Nordstrom organizational structure, philosophy, and culture
