Accounts Payable Clerk (06-290)

We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk for our Accounting Team.  The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices for payment.  The incumbent is also responsible for answering inquiries of vendors and departments throughout the organization regarding invoices; tax accruals, invoice reconciliation, and work with multiple banks for payment disperse.

 

Job Description

1. Proficiently use the Matson’s accounts payable software systems, APM, FPS, Microsoft Office Group, Brio, and Internet.

2. Processes for payment vendor invoices and check requests.  This includes, when necessary, matching invoices with receiving documents and purchase orders prior to payment.

3. Enters manual (“prepaid”) check, allotments, garnishments, credit and debit memos and wire transfer information into the A/P system.

4. Enforces internal control policies by processing only those invoices properly authorized for payment.  Implement and adhere to SOX and company policies

5. Solicits pertinent information from new vendors and sets up new vendors

6. Acts as a liaison between vendors and Matson’s various departments in responding to inquiries.

7. Obtains pertinent information (e.g. General Ledger, account coding or proper signature approvals) from department personnel.

8. Reviews vendor statements by comparison with A/P records and works with vendors departments in resolving any differences.

9. Maintains organized personal files and keeps an orderly file room.  Maintain A/P document files and ensure confidentiality.

10. Sorts and distributes department mail, including non A/P related mailExperience requirements and/or specializes skills

· Possess strong computer (PC) skills, proficient in excel spread sheets

· Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred.

· One to two years of work related experience.
