Accounting Clerk II

Accounting Clerk II Responsibilities Verify all outgoing wire activity, including account transfers, ensuring proper authorization on all documents prior to execution

Accounts payable processing; to include input, check printing, check distribution and maintaining files

Monitor daily cash balances and account activity for corporate accounts including liquidity tracking and reporting

Prepare Virginia sales tax returns

Coordinate and execute 1099 reporting

Assist in posting journal entries and handling corporate cash/check deposits

Order office supplies

Minimum Qualifications


Two to three years experience in the financial services industry, and two years of business college/accounting courses or the equivalent accounting work experience preferably with automated payable systems

Ability to perform clerical tasks related to accounting transactions with flexibility, organization, speed, and accuracy

Knowledge of the principles of double-entry bookkeeping

Ability to operate office equipment employed in bookkeeping, including 10-key adding machine, spreadsheet, and accounting software

Analytical skills to perform accounting computations and reconciliations

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

Ability to work with minimal supervision
