Analyst, Enterprise Content Management Technologies

Description:
Ever look at a Web site and ask, “What are they using to build and manage this site?” Have you ever wondered, “How is this company managing its content across all of its sites?” Or perhaps you’ve noticed all the different devices used by consumers to get information and thought, “How are organizations preparing themselves to deliver content to these consumers?” These are questions large enterprises ask Forrester on a regular basis. You job as the Analyst for Enterprise Content Management Technologies would be to answer them.

Specifically, the Analyst, Enterprise Content Management Technologies, conducts primary and secondary research in support of Forrester Research products, advising CIOs, enterprise architects, information management professionals, and other roles on how enterprise content management technology strategy and planning can help shape and support their business. The Analyst will help technology professionals navigate a wide range of enterprise content management technologies, focusing on Web content management, digital asset management, and other technologies used to help enterprises deliver dynamic, persuasive content experiences. The Analyst will play a key role in helping Forrester’s largest IT clients make multimillion-dollar decisions about their Web sites and content management infrastructures from vendors like Adobe, EMC, IBM, Interwoven, Open Text, and Vignette.

The Analyst will write, speak, and advise clients by analyzing software, solutions, and industry trends, understanding the business impact of the risks and threats that Forrester’s clients face, evaluating enterprise content management technology and strategy, providing design and implementation best practices, and helping clients organize and plan for the future. The Analyst’s primary research focus areas may include: Web content management, digital asset management, and multisite management best practices. The Analyst must maintain current knowledge of relevant vendors, service providers, and software.

Responsibilities:
Analysts work as part of small, high-performance teams and collaborate with team members in all aspects of the job. The Analyst, Enterprise Content Management Technologies, will:
•Maintain a current level of expertise in the market. He or she must be able to understand and analyze the strategy, positioning, and prospects of relevant vendors. The Analyst also predicts the changing dynamics of the market’s offerings.
• Communicate and interact at a high level with major vendor and enterprise customers to understand their products and visions.
• Provide written research on topics related to the area of expertise described above, meeting Forrester’s standard for quality and quantity.
•Deliver consulting assignments, including presentations at events, written papers, extended projects, and other direct client interactions.
• Apply Forrester’s research to clients’ specific business environments through telephone and email responses to questions from Forrester’s clients.
• Provide pre-sales support via telephone and face-to-face meetings with Forrester prospects as arranged by Forrester’s Sales and Marketing teams.
• Present at Forrester Events and teleconferences.


Requirements:

• Two or more years of experience as: 1) a client-facing technical consultant, product manager, or product marketer at an enterprise content management technology vendor; 2) a client-facing technical consultant at a systems integrator with a specialization in enterprise content management technologies such as Web content management and digital asset management; 3) an internal project manager or team lead supporting eBusiness, multichannel marketing, or corporate Web site initiatives.
• A strong academic record of achievement — a B.A./B.S. degree is required; an M.S. degree or equivalent experience is preferred. A technical degree is also preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and computer skills.
