ANALYST 1-FINANCE

Researches and provides financial and/or business related analyses to assess the impact of various projects, systems and transactions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Conducts analyses and research in such areas as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital and investment.
• Prepares forecasts and analyzes trends in manufacturing, sales, finance, general business conditions and other related areas.
• For assigned projects: prepares detail of work plan and schedule, completes detailed analysis and research, identifies options, prepares reports for management and recommends action or change.
• Provides assistance to departments in the formulation of their budgets. Reviews departmental actual expenses versus budget.
• Issues monthly variance statements.
• Assists in the development of department procedures and performance measures.
• Conducts special financial and business related studies as requested.
• Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
• Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.
• If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in accounting or finance, plus 0 to 2 years experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

SKILLS
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
• Experience in Basic MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Ability to follow established procedures to perform tasks that are routine in nature, requiring some evaluation, originality or ingenuity.
• Knows the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of this particular field of specialization.

Additional Information
This position is primarily responsible for supporting the Domestic Marketing Team’s coupon initiatives. It will include the preparation of Coupon Copy, allocation grids and interfacing with Marketing to deliver estimated redemption costs for coupon programs. This position will also interact with Creative Services and Channel Marketing. Month-end Journal Entries, generation of monthly reports, and account reconciliations.
