Safety Manager

ACCO Brands Corporation is one of the world's largest suppliers of branded office products, with annual revenues of nearly $2 billion. We market products in over 100 countries across the globe through our own sales force and distribution networks.  We currently are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to manage safety, environmental, property protection and workers compensation for a manufacturing and distribution environment.

 

Responsibilities Include:Manage the safety, environmental, property protection and workers’ compensation processes ensuring compliance with all State and Federal requirements.Have a good knowledge of State (California OSHA) and Federal safety and environmental laws.Develop, implement, maintain and audit all applicable safety and environmental programs.Coordinate the workers’ compensation claim management process both internally and with our outside workers’ compensation claims administrator and outside case management company to provide workers’ compensation benefits.  Ensure that occupationally injured teammates are being given the best medical attention and at the same time managing costs.Obtain and keep current all necessary environmental permits and licenses (i.e. operational licenses, air permits, storm water permits, wastewater permits etc.)Provide all necessary safety and environmental training to ensure compliance at a minimum.Implement and maintain a behavioral based safety process.Ensure that all property protection and life safety programs are developed, implemented and maintained.Oversee and participate in investigations off all accidents and near misses to determine root cause and corrective action.Develop and implement a system to minimize or, where possible, eliminate waste generation, document and track progressTrack and ensure that injury and illness statistics and activity reports are reported to Corporate on a monthly basis.

 

 

Requirements:Solid problem solving skills.Four year degree in safety or related field and a minimum of five years of hands on safety experience in a manufacturing facility. Environmental experience a plus but not mandatory.PC skills, which include Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Access Experience operating basic industrial hygiene equipment (i.e.; noise level meter, portable air sampling equipment etc.)Preference will be given to an individual fluent in both English and Spanish in both oral and written skills.
