JOB TITLE:
Noise Control Specialist (Highway Construction)
PROJECT OVERVIEW:
Support various transportation projects in California
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsibilities include conducting noise measurements and analysis of community noise impacts of airports, highways, industrial, and public works projects.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Willingness to travel and/or relocate to field sites is expected.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Requires engineering or physical science degree plus a minimum of 5 years related experience. Experience in noise measurement and analyzing community noise impacts from airports, highways, industrial, and public works projects is highly desirable.
SKILLS / COMPETENCIES:
Working knowledge of noise computer models such as TNM, INM, and NOISEMAP is necessary.
Also requires a demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication skills and a thorough understanding of environmental rules and regulations.
