Environmental Project Manager – CEQA/NEPA

UltraSystems is actively seeking to fill an Environmental Project Manager position, with experience in CEQA/NEPA for our Irvine, California office.  This position is a regular, full-time salaried position. Salary will be based on individual qualifications and experience.

 

Our firm is seeking an individual to support various highway projects throughout Southern CA, NV, and AZ.  Travel maybe required to our Scottsdale, AZ office to service AZ clients.

 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities



 

Responsibilities for the Environmental Project Manager position include:

 Serve as Project Manager for a variety of CEQA/NEPA projects; Demonstrate expertise in federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to environmental planning in California. Manage CEQA/NEPA documentation and compliance projects including management of budgets, multidisciplinary teams and sub-consultants, background research and data collection, development and preparation of alternatives, analysis of land use and socioeconomic, and coordination of the preparation of other sections of documents that may be prepared by resources specialists within our office; Take initiative, resolve issues to assure client needs are met effectively; andWork closely with other Senior Project Managers and Directors and be able to interface on other projects and with business development activities.

 

Qualifications

Master’s degree in environmental planning, environmental science or a related field is required. At least 7 – 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in the preparation of CEQA/NEPA documents. This position requires a thorough knowledge and understanding of CEQA, and a working knowledge of NEPA, and a thorough familiarity with California planning law.  Additional requirements include experience preparing and managing complex environmental documents and experience in preparing zoning and policy planning documents for public agencies. 

 

Excellent organizational, oral, written and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and to travel as needed for projects throughout California. Willingness to learn and grow into increased project-management responsibilities.
