Environmental Coordinator

Tiffin Motor Homes is seeking an experienced Environmental Coordinator to join our growing team in a fast paced work environment in Red Bay, Alabama. Reporting to the Human Resources Director, this position is responsible for providing and administering environmental programs and related policies & procedures for the facility.


Key duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

· complete environmental reports to local, state, and federal regulators

· develop and implement procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with environmental regulations

· characterize, store, and dispose hazardous substances and hazardous waste

· perform routine informal auditing against regulatory requirements

· communicate with plant personnel on environmental compliance issues and opportunities for continuous improvement

· interact with regulatory agencies on information requests, routine inspections and regulatory development

· interact with plant personnel to stay abreast of planned changes that may affect environmental requirements or performance

· responsible for safety  initiatives including haz-com compliance and haz-mat emergency response procedures and working cooperatively with other departments to ensure a safe working environment

 

In order to perform these duties, the following skills and experiences are preferred:

· bachelor of science degree in engineering or environmental science with 1-5 years experience or a minimum of 5 years relevant environmental management experience will also be considered

· knowledge of hazardous waste management, storm water pollution prevention, waste water collection and analysis, hazardous material storage and containment, SPCC, SARA 311/312/313 reporting and record keeping, air emissions inventorying and reporting.

· able to work independently with minimum supervision, demonstrated ability to work in teams

· knowledge of maintenance of hazardous waste training requirementsexperience with the development and implementation of environmental permitting applications, management plans, and developing written and oral comments for regulatory rulemaking
