Summary Description of Position:

 

The successful candidate will accomplish a full range of Mining Engineering services for 7 nation-wide divisions.  Projects involve plans and recommendations for open-pit and underground construction aggregate quarries (crushed stone or sand and gravel).  Such plans include ultimate pit designs, short and long-term mining sequences, haul road designs, drainage systems, protective berms, overburden disposal sites, volume calculations, and identification of various grades of materials.

Education, Experience, Skills Required:

 

MS in Mining Engineering with a BS in Mining Engineering (or an associated technical field) and significant in-field summer work or intern/co-op experience, or a BS in Mining Engineering with 5 or more years’ experience are required.  Current experience designing long and short range mine plans using MineSight 3D or similar computerized mine design programs and recent experience in open pit mining or quarrying operations are essential.  Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communications and the ability to listen and assimilate ideas into plans are required. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Release 14 or higher, is required.  AutoDesk Land Desktop or Civil Design knowledge is a plus.  Knowledge of database management programs and Trimble ProXRS GPS survey equipment is a plus.
