Relocation Options:
Relocation will be in accordance with current BP guidelines.


The Well Site Leader is responsible at the well site for all related well activities with the goal of meeting or exceeding the drilling performance contract. 


Accountabilities Include:

Develop and lead a rig team in the safe execution of drilling programs.
Engage entire team in the pre-job planning meetings, safety meetings, etc. 
Encourage teamwork as the key to delivering Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and Drilling performance.
Lead by example in every aspect of safety and environmental performance.
Utilize Safety Training Observation Program, Advanced Safety Audit (ASA), Traction, and other BP systems to assist in driving HSE excellence.
Perform a minimum of one ASA per day and participate in investigations as required.
Ensure action items from investigations are closed out.
Set expectations and ensure third parties' rig work meets contractor's and BP's standards.
Ensure compliance with all company and government policies and regulations. 
Ensure risk assessments at the rig site are completed for all planned operations, including small peripheral tasks.
Track costs and provide accurate cost summaries.
Provide detailed and accurate reports of daily rig operations in Drilling Information Management System (DIMS).



Required Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of Well Site Leader applicants must have:

Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer.
The willingness and ability to work a 12 hour shift with a 2 week on/off rotational schedule on the North Slope of Alaska.
A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of 2 years of previous experience in a rig site leadership (Tool Pusher, Rig Manager, Foreman or similar) position with an Operator or Drilling Contractor.
A valid Well Control certification or have had one in the past.
A minimum of 2 years of experience building and leading a team.
A minimum of basic level calculation skills used for well site supervision.
A minimum of basic level skills with Microsoft Word and Excel.
The ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced, challenging environment.
Operational leadership experience with an emphasis on HSE excellence (minimum of 10% of daily leadership activities).
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with a diverse group of engineering, operations and contractor staff.


Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the required qualifications the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:

A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Engineering.
A minimum of 5 years of related Well Site Leader experience.
