Position Description:
Chevron Services company is accepting online applications for the position of Treasury Financial Analyst (0610-50048729) located in Concord, California through October 20, 2006.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of Global Lubricant’s accounts. The position is responsible for analyzing, recommending and approving lines of credit within established authorities based on analysis of financial statements and other available credit information. Monitors and controls the day-to-day credit exposure and payment activities relating the portfolio. This position involves the application of payments to customer accounts and the clearing of individual invoices based on remittance information provided by the customer. The position entails extensive contact with customers and Global Lubricants sales personnel, in order to resolve over and short payments. The position is located in Concord, CA and is part of the Credit & Receivables Management Division of Corporation Treasury.
Qualifications:
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for review and approval of customer credit limits and loans within approval authority based on analysis of financial statements and available credit information. For accounts above authority, prepares financial analysis and recommendations for Supervisor, or higher approval, as needed.
- Prepares management reports and other special collection reports as needed, detailing collection performance results and commenting on trends.
- Negotiates, executes and manages credit security (e.g. Bank Letters of Credit), collateral and other forms of credit support; investigates and releases credit holds and ensures payments are received from customers when due and initiates collection efforts, as appropriate.
- Monitors credit exposure through systems such SAP and ensures all credit systems are synchronized for credit limits, exposures and controls for all assigned customer accounts.
- Visits customers and works closely with business partners to obtain information required for credit analysis and maintenance of effective working relationships. Provides business partners with counsel on extension of payment terms, cost of credit and contract language.
- Provides backup and assistance to other Credit Analysts, as needed.
SPECIAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS OR ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS/INFORMATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance is preferred.
- Relocation benefits will not be considered.
- 9/80 Work Schedule is available
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and interpretation of financial statements. Must possess strong analytical/problem solving skills. Ability to work with excel & Access programs is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated strong oral and verbal communication skills; able to manage and deal tactfully with different communication styles; presents ideas as a series of clear, concise statements which guide the audience toward understanding;
- Able to work well with people at all levels within and outside the company; participates fully in team decisions and manages an equitable workload shared in formal and informal team environments. Is proactive in helping others.
- Strong decision making skills needed; must often make decisions based on limited data under tight deadlines. Demonstrated ability to consider impact of decisions on other aspects of the business.
- Able to handle multiple assignments of varying deadlines and complexities concurrently. Must be able to use good judgment in determining how to set priorities and in allocating time to issues.
- Demonstrates safe work practices and supports workplace safety initiatives. Takes personal responsibility for working safely and assists co-workers to work safely as well.
