Position Description:
Chevron North America Exploration and Production (CNAEP) is accepting online applications for a Production/Facilities Engineer (0610-50145958) located in Houston, Texas through October 27, 2006.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Facilities Engineering Coordinator, provide cost effective engineering support and management of facility projects for Chevrons Cook Inlet oil & gas facilities, with a focus on gas operations.
Qualifications:
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
- Identify and initiate cost-effective opportunities for revenue enhancement through production increases or expense reductions through optimization.
- Manage facility-based projects, including scope, risk analysis, AFE generation, procurement, Management of Change, HazAn, contractor supervision and startup.
- Identify, understand and comply with applicable laws, regulations, permitting requirements and work to minimize their impacts upon operations
- Evaluate, design and implement solutions with the guidance of industry recommended practices and in compliance with applicable Unocal Alaska and Corporate Policies and Procedures.
- Grow professionally in new areas of relevant technology.
- Willingly accept accountability for project performance parameters (timeliness, cost, quality).
- Carry out assigned, job-specific OMS responsibilities.
- Provide day-to-day engineering support to assigned facilities.
- Maximize use of available project management tools.
- Select and supervise contract engineering resources.
- Work closely with Asset Team to prioritize, plan & execute projects that provide needed facilities on schedule and on budget.
SPECIAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS OR ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS/INFORMATION:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or Process Engineering.
- Position requires frequent travel via fixed wing aircraft and helicopter . Must have the ability to reside offshore or remote locations occasionally.
- Relocation benefits will be considered.
- This is a safety sensitive Position.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- B.S. Engineering
- Minimum 6 years oil & gas facility engineering experience, gas preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Awareness of local oil & gas facility resources, vendors & contractors.
- General familiarity with offshore oil & gas production facilities and related engineering standards and codes.
- Proficiency in upstream oil & gas production and processing operations.
- Prior responsibilities in managing of oil & gas facility projects from start to finish
- Experience in working in a cross functional team environment.
