Pressure Equipment Inspection Engineer - LAR

Shell Oil Products US is currently seeking a Pressure Equipment Inspection Engineer for its refinery located in Los Angeles, California.

Responsibilities:
In this position you will be responsible for the Pressure Equipment Engineering and Inspection Discipline at Los Angeles Refinery. This group provides technical assurance for the PEI discipline and sets the standards by which plant pressure equipment and piping is inspected and repaired. Additional Accountabilities: - Providing both short and long term engineering support to the Production Teams - Developing and implementing long range inspection initiatives and infrastructure projects - Supporting deployed personnel (Pressure Equipment Inspectors and Engineers) as needed in their efforts to provide support to Project Engineering and Production Teams - Assuring Shell Global Solutions Major Projects work is overviewed by the site through the use of project-specific site representatives - Setting direction for and leading Pressure Equipment Group consisting of Engineers, Pressure Equipment Inspectors and Inspection Supervisors - Contributing to developing and managing the Pressure Equipment base and turnaround budgets - Tracking and reporting data on health of pressure equipment discipline (compliance index, scorecard, technet metrics, infrastructure, etc.) - Escalating issues to the appropriate management level when needed - Leading Pressure Equipment safety efforts (HSO Compliance, Safety Meetings, etc.) - Participating in Engineering Support staff meetings and issues - Leading interface with Refinery pressure equipment personnel - Assuring compliance with State of California Petroleum Safety Orders

Requirements:
To be considered for this position you must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Materials, Civil or Metallurgical) and have approximately 5 or more years experience in Pressure Equipment and/or Inspection at a manufacturing facility. A Master’s Degree is preferred. Additional Requirements: - Knowledge of industry standards such as ASME and API codes - Knowledge of Shell Standards (e.g. EGGS) - Experience in PEI program development and leadership is desired In addition to the tasks outlined in this job description, you may be assigned other responsibilities as needed.
