Geophysicist – Upstream Oil and Gas Industry

Principal Technical Services, a leading West Coast provider of technical and professional staffing, is seeking Geophysicist Engineer candidates for IMMEDIATE OPENINGS in the Oil and Gas Industry in California

 

Essential Job Duties:The successful candidate will apply geophysical technologies and interpretation skills to identify, evaluate, and appraise exploration, exploitation, and development drilling opportunities in and around the Bakersfield, CA. In addition, he/she must work effectively and creatively within multi-disciplinary reservoir management and exploration teams to technically and commercially evaluate all opportunities presented to management. The candidate must also possess a keen desire to apply new geophysical technologies and work flows to reservoir characterization and reservoir/production monitoring.

 

Required Qualifications:BS or higher degree in Geophysics or GeoscienceMinimum 5 years petroleum industry experienceSignificant 2D and 3D seismic interpretation experience and proven ability to integrate interpretation with geologic and engineering dataExperience using seismic attributes for reservoir characterizationProficiency in reserves estimation and versed in petroleum economicsAbility to multi-task and prioritize project workAbility to work effectively in a cross-functional team environmentGood oral and written communication skills

 

Additional Desired Qualifications:Experience in well planning and drilling operationsGood understanding of petrophysical interpretation and modelingApplication of geophysics to reservoir and production monitoringLeadership capabilities

 

 

Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident - No H1B visas
