Construction Supervisor - Must have Gas Pipeline Exp (FO)
Enbridge Energy Company, Inc, a leader in crude and natural gas transportation, gathering, and processing, is currently seeking a Construction Supervisor for our Muscle Shoals, Alabama location. This person will be responsible for The Supervisor handles the day-to-day construction and cost estimating activities. Responsible for the safe implementation and construction of pipelines, compressors, meter stations, etc., including IMP facilities installation and field implementation.
Specific Accountabilities:
· Ensures Regulatory compliance for construction activities and system optimization by following standards and attending training.
· Provides timely and accurate cost estimates to the commercial/operations group for project evaluation. Continue to look for ways to improve construction efficiencies, facility design, and lower cost.
· Manages the performance of consultants and contractors and hold them accountable for results. Ensure all construction personnel are aligned with company and Transportation group south strategy and goals.
· Effectively communicates with landowners, regulators, and other companies and handle appropriate negotiations regarding construction projects.
· Ensures construction and design effectiveness by attending/holding regular meetings at field locations, providing feedback to Construction Superintendent on operational expectations related to construction.
· Shares Construction Best Practices (BP) between operating areas and peers. Research and provides documentation of BP outside of company to other leaders.
· Understands communicates and implements company policies and procedures; ensures consistency in application and compliance across areas. Assist the superintendent in reviewing company policies and procedures and makes recommendations for revision based on best construction practices.
· Ensures that the construction needs of the entire area are balanced and that human resources can be leveraged to assist in construction in other areas.
· Coordinates resources between areas by ensuring the appropriate contractors are utilized, that surplus inventory list are shared, and the purchasing department is utilized for the purchases of equipment and material to lower cost.
· Communicates with supervisor to grow the asset and/or improve efficiencies.
· Ensures that costs are tracked and fall within budget amounts for projects. If overages are anticipated notify supervisor or project owners as soon as possible for guidance.
Typical Qualifications:
· High School education.
· 5 to 10 years in construction and or system operations.
· Engineering, drafting, surveying, and compressor design backgrounds are preferred.
· Must have computer skills and be adept in Word Perfect, Excel, and Access.
· Must be able to handle several projects concurrently and make cost effective decisions with little supervision.
Be able to effectively communicate with landowners, regulatory agencies, company leaders as well as contractors and consultants to achieve a common goal.
