Boiler & Condenser Supervisor - Valves & Welding

Job Requirements:
AA Degree in Business or technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Minimum five years experience performing, planning, or supervising in a Nuclear Mechanical Maintenance environment. Demonstrated knowledge of boiler and condenser mechanical principles and processes as they apply to plant repairs and modifications, QA principals, rigging, scaffolding, and general mechanical maintenance. Knowledge of American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) codes as they apply to Mechanical Maintenance. Broad knowledge and experience in applying Human Resources policies, procedures, and principles including discipline, training and development, and equal opportunity. Knowledge of applicable nuclear maintenance programs and procedures. Demonstrated ability to accomplish goals through coordination and leadership. General overall knowledge Utilities Workers Union of America (UWUA) and General Presidents Project Maintenance (GPPM) agreements. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work with a personal computer and associated software applications. Must have the ability to create a safety conscious work environment that supports individuals raising safety issues and promotes a questioning attitude. ANSI 18.1 Requirements: Shall have a high school diploma or equivalent; shall have a minimum of four years of experience in the craft or discipline the individual is supervising.

Preferences:
Degree: Outage experience as a First Line Supervisor or Planner. Experience working with contractors in a Supervision or support role.

Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will become an intregal part of planning, scheduling, performance, and documentation of work performed by Boiler and Condenser Mechanics. This position will analyze, estimate, plan and supervise coordination of maintenance work activities, meeting required deadlines and schedules. Responsibilities also include interpreting the union contract; investigate and coordinate grievance activities; forecast and prepare maintenance budgets; prepare performance appraisals and provide subordinate counseling; interface with other division supervisors to correct equipment problems and provide technical support; and perform critical self assessment.
