Navigation Software Application Development Manager III

Job Description:
This position will be responsible to managing activities, resources, and schedules associated with various software development projects of a team of approximately 20 software engineers. Job duties to include, but are not limited to: Delivering quality work on time. Define projects, estimate the project size, choose appropriate project lifecycle, plan the project, and use the provided tracking tools correctly.  Regularly report on activities to all interested parties, mitigate risks, motivate personnel, and negotiate for the project and the team.  Understand and express technical issues regarding software development, used and propagate Alpine development processes.  Responsible for understanding and preparing for audits, planning and managing the teams’ budget.   Attend meetings with engineers, customers and management.  Create job descriptions, conduct hiring interviews, performance reviews, and manage other basic HR functions.  Responsible for conducting meetings and preparing materials including presentations and agendas.

Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will posses the following: Minimum 5 years management experience required.  C/C+ language experience. Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the software development disciplining.  Excellent organizational and time management skills also required.  Strong interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills required.  BSCE and four years experience of software development and/or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required.  Strong project and resources management, multi project leadership and presentation skills are required. Computer proficiency in MS project, MS office professional suite.  Knowledge of budgeting, conflict resolution and recognition & praise experience a plus.
