Instructional Supports Specialist

The Learning Tree, Inc. is a private non-profit residential program for students with measured IQ and Adaptive Behavior Rating of below 70 who engage in challenging behaviors, including self injury and aggression.  It is the leader in Alabama in the application of the principles of applied behavior analysis as a methodology to teach adaptive pro-social skills and reduce maladaptive behaviors.  The school is licensed by the Alabama State Dept.'s of Education and Mental Health/Mental Retardation, and has three sites in the state:  Jacksonville, Mobile, and Tallassee.

 

The Learning Tree, Inc. is interviewing for the position of Instructional Supports Specialist at its school in Jacksonville, AL.  Working under the supervision of the Coordinator of Instructional Supports, the role includes:  serving as a monitor of behavior program implementation, modeling of professional skills for staff at all times, providing technical assistance with software technology in support of the mission of the behavioral services department, assistance in development of Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA, including the ABBLL's, scatter plots, structured observational and descriptive assessments, analogue functional analysis, staff training for behavior support plans, assistance in supervision and performance appraisal of staff, assistance in maintenance of office records, participation in development of clinical initiatives, working with consultants, participation in Instructional Supports Review Committee (ISRC) activities, and other duties as assigned to ensure quality of service delivery.
