Curriculum Manager, WebJunction (Gates Foundation Grant)
WebJunction is hiring immediately for a Curriculum Manager for the Managing Public Access Computing (iMPACt) Program. iMPACt is a competency-based program and the framework through which WebJunction will construct learning and assessment opportunities for library staff to help them gain or improve the competencies needed to manage and sustain successful public access computing programs. The Curriculum Manager will be in charge of developing the program design, creating curriculum and learning resources, and providing overall project management for the program. The Curriculum Manager will also be responsible for delivering the program described above via the WebJunction platform while managing two staff persons and many independent contractors. He/she will be responsible for conducting needs assessments, detailing competencies, developing diagnostic assessments, creating all forms of curriculum, and designing the learner/manager experience via WebJunction.
The position is fulltime with benefits for 24 months through June 2008, and is located in Seattle, Washington.
"˘Provide overall project management for the iMPACt Learning Program. Manage program strategy, staffing and contractors, budgets, reporting, and other project responsibilities.
"˘Design the iMPACt program and develop the overall curriculum which will consist of program needs assessment, detailed competencies for all program areas, diagnostic assessments, tailored learning plans, and an e-portfolio.
"˘Manage the writing of the diagnostic assessments to ensure that they accurately assess the competencies outlined in the iMPACt curriculum and that learning recommendations are appropriate
"˘Conduct focus groups and manage advisory committees to help design and validate the curriculum.
"˘Determine what courses and other learning resources do not exist already for the program and need to be developed by WebJunction. Manage the development of learning resources required to fill the identified gaps.
"˘Determine how the pieces of the iMPACt program are delivered over WebJunction, using the various tools that either exist or will be developed, to provide a valuable user experience
Required Skills:
"˘3- 5 years' experience in program and curriculum development for adult education
"˘3-5 years' experience with program or project management with significant level of responsibility
"˘2 years' experience developing and delivering online learning
"˘2 years' experience leading teams including staff and contractors strong project management, analytical, written, organizational and communications skills.
Candidates should be detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a wide variety of groups and individuals is critical, as is knowledge of online communities, communication technologies, and content and learning management systems. Experience creating and managing advisory committees, user groups, focus groups and surveys. BA required, Master"&tm;s preferred. Interest in and experience with public libraries a plus, as is experience with public access computing experience. Candidates should be able to work effectively and efficiently under pressure, and should be comfortable with working independently and in a self-directed manner. Experience with word processing, project management, email and accounting programs such as MS Word, Excel, Project and Outlook are required.
