ASSISTANT DIRECTOR INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH

 

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Assistant Director Institutional Research will assist the Associate Vice President in the management and coordination of all aspects of the college's institutional research and assessment programs and initiatives in support of strategic institutional planning efforts and decision-making.   Specifically, the Assistant Director Institutional Research will assist in the collection, organization, analysis and reporting of all institutional data and will serve as a primary resource to the standing assessment committee, strategic planning committee and senior administration for information and data that is essential in the operational effectiveness of the institution.   In addition, the Assistant Director Institutional Research will assist in the compilation, maintenance and reporting of data to state and federal agencies and the preparation of reports and internal and external surveys.  The Assistant Director Institutional Research will also provide support in the analysis and interpretation of student retention data and student satisfaction levels and the college's re-accreditation process.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: Bachelor's degree with strong technological and quantitative skills with computer and software applications, including statistical analysis software, spreadsheets and database software.  Ability to retrieve, analyze and present data in meaningful formats (tables, charts, graphs) to various audiences.· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access and Word.·

Preferred: Advanced degree preferred.· Three years of work experience in an academic environment and project management involving assessment, research, statistical and analytical work Knowledge of: Institutional effectiveness models and longitudinal research designs in higher education; student outcomes assessment programs, processes and procedures. Experience with student information systems (such as Datatel Colleague).
