SENIOR PRODUCT DESIGNER

 

We are a Los Angeles based global sales promotion and premium supply company with a 20-year history working with some of the biggest and best clients in the business.  Our expertise lies in our ability to integrate technologies into paper, plastics, packaging, premiums, and toys.  We are currently in search of a positive energetic individual who is creative and can utilize knowledge of materials and processes to design innovative new products to assume the role of Sr. Product Designer in our Emerging Technologies Department.

 

Product Designer is responsible for complete management of new & innovative technology based projects. This position will be actively involved in identifying emerging technologies, designing new features and functions, and building modles to demonstrate ideas.  You will work with all departments and all levels of management. Co-ordinate design/development of new concepts/technology with internal product development teams and outside vendors. Working with Product Engineers and Safety Engineers to make sure that all design meet the requirements of function, cost, safety and manufacturability. 

Requirements:B.S. or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering or Industrial Design with 5+ years experience in consumer product design required. Toys and premiums industry experience is a major plus. Strong working knowledge of Solid Works, Adobe Photoshop, MS Windows, Excel, PowerPoint required Must have a drive to find new innovative technologies and develop ways to incorporate into new product ideas. Generate design concepts incorporating desired product features and ergonomic requirements. Must have the understanding of plastics processing methods including injection molding, blow molding, and rotational molding. Molding understanding must include knowledge of piece part requirements relating to parting lines and draft. Outstanding mechanical aptitude to review mechanisms and understand how they work as it relate to mechanism design and development. Strong design skills, project management skills and a strong ability to multi-task are absolute must. Must have experience exploring, managing and presenting innovative technology. Must be able to work independently or as part of a team with minimum supervision. Must be insightful, analytical and be able to act as a liaison between various parties involved. A good understanding of overall design that can be related to cost versus function. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Electronics knowledge is important.
