 International Marketing Associate – Job Description

 

This is a Permanent Position as an International Marketing Associate working for a company that is a leading provider of cosmetic products for over 50 years. A successful candidate will be responsible for the marketing, budgeting and planning aspects of the organization’s international business.  You will have full authority to operate this position in accordance with company policies and as directed by the Supervisor, International Marketing.  This is a Salaried Exempt position.

 

 

Location:  Oak Brook, IL

Compensation: $51,000-55,000

 

 

JOB FUNCTIONS

1.  Develops, tracks, analyzes, and publishes key financial information related to:Revenue and expense budgetsForecasted P&L statements for new products launchesProjected foreign currency cash flowIncoming and outgoing International RoyaltiesOther Special Projects

2.  Obtains annual marketing plans from each international distributor and assures  they correspond with strategic objectives.

3.  Coordinates and monitors business development plans for the new markets and/or distributors.

4.  Coordinates preparation for and participates in International marketing conferences

5.  Visits international distributors to facilitate planning, troubleshoot and evaluate market situations (as needed).

6.  Designs, tracks, analyzes, and disseminates consumer and market research information.

7.  Coordinates International new product development process by leading the International R&D Team and identifying new areas of opportunity through research.

8.  Handles new product introduction presentations.

9.  Keeps apprised of European regulatory requirements and works within International Department to assure compliance.

10.  Assists in due diligence and integration of any international acquisitions.

11.  Consistently upgrades International display web site.

12.  Upgrades eu site (as needed).

13.  Coordinates agendas and international binders for bi-annual international planning meetings.

14.  Coordinates Distributor Evaluations every 3 years, or as needed.

15.  Recommends pricing for each fiscal year.

16.  Strengthens the International Department by contributing innovative ideas, expertise, knowledge, high professional standards, team spirit and pride in the company.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1.  A 4-year college degree in international marketing/sales or related discipline; or equivalent training and experience is required.

2.  The knowledge and skills required for this position are typically acquired in 3-4 years of relevant experience in brand management setting.

 

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1.  Effective interpersonal skills are required to interact with varies levels of internal and external customers.

2.  Good leadership skills

3.  Excellent written communication skills

4.  A comprehensive knowledge of the general direction of international function and technology (evolving services, etc.) is required in this position.

5.  Fluency in a second language a plus

6.  A broad understanding of general international sales and marketing practices

7.  Must be computer literate in a Windows environment (i.e., Word, Excel/Spreadsheets, but not limited to)

8.  Ability to work independently on multiple projects.

9.  Ability to prepare detailed and accurate information

10.  Good organizational ability

11.  Must possess strong analytical ability and math aptitude.

12.  High degree of familiarity with and ability to use office machines

13.  Willingness to accept other duties, as assigned.

14.  Must possess the ability to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with internal and external customers, function as a team player, accept constructive criticism from management and comply with company policies
