Job Description:

 

Manages the adoption and execution of global marketing and communication strategies for the Jack Daniel’s Family of Brands.  Provides, project management, creative, and  analytical support to the Jack Daniel’s Global Brand Team in their leadership and oversight of Jack Daniel’s global business. Will work with the Director of Global Marketing, Director of Business Analysis and Global General Manager on regular and special projects.  Success will require significant interaction with B-F regional/field marketing, internal support departments, and outside agencies.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Brand Management – 40%

•  Manage all advertising, packaging, and product initiatives; will have specific responsibility for:

o  Leadership and coordination of all internet/on-line, primary packaging, and duty-free initiatives

o  Championship and global coordination of Jack Daniels music programs

o  “Backstop” Director of Global Marketing when he is unavailable due to travel or meetings

o  Develop operational expertise and build relationships by visiting markets and working on projects with local marketing and sales personnel

 

Creative Management – 40%

•  Solicit input, brief agencies, and manage workflow on advertising projects

o  Draft initial creative brief on all global advertising initiatives and review and finalize with the creative director, operating group global brand directors, and agency

o  Solicit creative briefs from operating group marketing on market specific creative initiatives which will be coordinated through Louisville

o  Establish and manage workflows for all initiatives

o  Solicit and communicate feedback on proposed creative from “creative initiative stakeholders”  to agency and Director of Global Marketing.

o  Coordinate and conduct post-mortem analysis of all major creative projects

o  Draft and review with Director of Global Marketing regular project status reports and evaluations of  agency performance

o  Review all ad agency project estimates with the creative director and insure their timely approval.

o  Reconcile approved estimates with project invoices upon completion of project.

Special Projects – 20%

•  Execute analytical and special projects at the request of the Global General Manager, Director of Business Analysis, and Director of Global Marketing. Analytical projects will include

o  Analysis of the effectiveness of marketing programs

o  Data analysis to support the effective allocation of resources

o  Maintenance of market/BMU briefing books containing all relevant sales, financial, competitive, consumer and cultural information

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

The ability to convey ideas, concepts, and data effectively in written and oral communications.

Demonstrated intellectual curiosity.

Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks balancing potential strategic value and ongoing needs of the team and business.

Excellent interpersonal skills.  Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of corporate, marketing, and field personnel and all kinds of external contacts.

Demonstrated desire to solve problems and create value.

Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation programs such as Word®, Excel®, and PowerPoint®.

 

Required Education and Experience

 

Minimum 3 years in marketing, finance, or analysis experience with a brand marketing company.

An MBA or Master’s Degree in a business discipline or a Bachelor’s Degree and relevant experience (such as consumer research or agency work) with demonstrated productivity and intellectual leadership.

Additional Beneficial Skills, Education, or Experience

Marketing major.

Knowledge of beverage alcohol industry.

Experience in consumer packaged goods marketing.

Fluency in Spanish or German.
