Engineering Manager - Southwest

The executive recruiting firm of Saenger Associates has been retained to conduct a search for the newly created position of Engineering Manager.  The subject position reports directly to the division General Manager and is based in AZ.

Engineering Manager

 

Responsibilities

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical and administrative staff of the new product development, with additional oversight in product cost reduction and product quality improvement.  The group is responsible for line extensions for existing products, new product development, manufacturing process development; and, tooling and quality development; project conception, justification and execution; project planning and scheduling; drive projects to completion and achieve project deliverables; contribute to setting/accomplishing strategic direction/plans for the Engineering Department.

 

The Engineering Manager will hire and train, engineers and support staff to make project and task assignments, evaluate performance, and quality management.  Qualifications

The professional we seek will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related degree, an advanced degree a big plus.  7 years experience in Engineering Management in a manufacturing environment with supervisory experience.  Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to plan and drive projects to completion; and a thorough understanding of product development are critical for success in this fast-paced, high- volume, high-reliability product environment.  Excellent theoretical and demonstrated knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts with an ability to specify, procure and install production equipment, including automated systems, perform financial analysis and cost justifications.  Knowledge of CAD/CAE engineering tools, injection molding plastic component design, plastics processing and mold tool design; and, knowledge of QFD, SPC,

 

FMEA, DOE and process capability studies are desired.  Well organized, enthusiastic, high energy, strong work ethic.
