Title:   Senior Designer

Reports to:  VP of Product Development

Status:  Full-time, Exempt

 

Description:

 

Home Furnishings Company is seeking a Senior Designer to work in our corporate office located in So. CA (South Bay).  Working as a key member of our Product Development department, the Senior Designer will be responsible for the design, development, execution and production of a wide range of Wall Art, Mirrors and other Home Décor Accessories.  Candidates must be able to design with imagination and freshness to tight objectives and deadlines.  You should enjoy bringing enthusiastic knowledge of trends in the visual arts and are able to leverage those trends to increase the marketing impact of the design.

 



Responsibilities

·  Development of Wall Art, Mirrors, and other Home Decor Accessories.

·  Research market trends with respect to the applicable products

·  Ability to execute layouts, sketches, first samples, and other materials to help illustrate and explain product concepts

·  Coordinate and execute sales driven design assignments

 

QualificationsBFA or related degree from a 4 year accredited University PREFERRED5+ years designer experience in product development/design preferably within the home furnishing industry Highly proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark and 3-D software Highly organized and able to work efficiently on multiple projects to meet tight deadlines Strong ability to prioritize and manage time independently Portfolio will be required for review at interviewMust be able to spot emerging design trends and have flexible design styles.Work well in team environment, demonstrate breakthrough thinking and continuously demonstrate an innovative approach to product development.strong understanding of both 2D and 3D designHighly developed sense of creativity, analytic problem solving and the ability to clearly communicate both verbally and visually.
