Accounts Receivable Associate

Position Description:



GENERAL PURPOSEThis position is responsible for processing daily cash receipts, assisting in collection of delinquent payments, preparing correspondence, reviewing and analyzing accounts and completing administrative functions to ensure that accounts are updated.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms cash application processes within a defined group of accountsEnsures statements are sent out on a weekly basis.Effectively manages assigned portfolio of accounts:Ensures customers are within payment terms.Minimizes company's credit risk.Resolves all short paid invoices with customer and Field Sales.Reconciles customer accounts.Builds and maintains relationships with customer's finance department.Contacts customers with past due accounts to negotiate an appropriate resolution.Documents all collection calls clearly and concisely.Updates customer contact and account information.Communicates with customer regarding account.Assists in developing and maintaining Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) including Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), Percent Current, Bad Debt Percentage, Collection Effectiveness Index (CEI) and collections calls.Processes invoice corrections and forwards to Pricing & Promotions Department to complete.Assists in retrieving invoices needed by customer for proof of delivery.Prepares AR Aging reports.Performs cross-training to learn other areas in the department.



QUALIFICATIONSEducation: High school diploma or equivalentYears of Related Experience: 2-4 years related experienceKnowledge/Skills/Abilities: Good PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). 10-key experience required. Knowledge of SAP is beneficial. General business and accounting knowledge is required. Effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrates ability to research issues as they arise and make recommendations for resolution. Works effectively in a fast paced, time-critical environment.EOE
