Document Control Manager - Western Caribbean

Due to expansion, my client, an established Property Developer in Grand Cayman, currently seeks a Cost Engineer for project controls on large commercial construction projects.

The project includes commercial, residential, resort and marina districts together with educational, retail, office and entertainment amenities.

You will be responsible for the timely control and issuing of all documents, drawings and reports, including scope of works, together with the logging and distribution of new, amended and revised drawings, procedure updates, plot plans, layouts, procurement schedules and material import status to the project team, sub contractors and client representatives, the issuing and logging of all comments, liaison with design and procedures team’s with regards to progress of requests for further information, recording and upkeep of audit trail for each issue. Also accountable for the updating and maintenance of records, databases and archives on a BIM (Building Information Management) system resolving technical and drawing issues and locating / updating previously released drawings, upkeep of the computerised and drawing register and document library, the production of weekly and monthly statistic reports to include number of issues, updating of ‘lifecycle’ for each document, progress reports for each document and forecast against original issue programme.

Ideally, you will have previous experience as a Document Controller on a large building orientated scheme where a BIM system has been used. You will be familiar with the logging and dispatch of drawings and information, together with the effective control and organisation of the Drawing register and be able to work to strict timescales and deadlines and be proactive in the request for further information.

Previous overseas experience is not a pre-requisite.

An ‘All In’ salary package is on offer, paid Free of Tax, to include an allowance for Accommodation, Travel and Flights, together with Contributory Pension and Medical.
