Council for Logistics Research, Inc. (CLR) is seeking a Software Tester to join the team at

Hanscom Air Force Base supporting the SMART initiative for the U.S. Air Force

 

Overview:

CLR is seeking a junior to mid level Software Tester to perform functional testing of a complex web based application.  This application is in the early stages of undergoing redesign using an agile development model and necessitates an iterative unit and integration testing approach.

 

As the Software Tester, you will:

·  Write and update test cases to ensure testing activities are documented and repeatable.

·  Perform structured and ad-hoc functional, unit, integration, and validation tests to ensure product meets requirements.

·  Reproduce and document defects using defect tracking tools, work with the project team to designate issue severity and priority, and perform regression testing as required.

·  Provide managers with testing summaries outlining tests completed and defects open/resolved.

·  Improve business technology processes and supports critical IT strategies. Provides analytical expertise, evaluating IT-related processes. Manages the development, implementation, and maintenance of business applications systems.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

·  Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology or related field

·  8+ years of overall professional work experience

·  3+ years of software testing experience

·  1+ years testing service-oriented architecture (SOA) web services

·  Experience executing structured and ad-hoc manual tests as well as writing and executing test cases

·  Experience with defect tracking tools used to document and track software defects

·  Ability to work well independently as well as within a team; self-starter and team player

·  Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with both technical and business staff

·  Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

·  Currently possess or is eligible to obtain a Secret Clearance (Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.  U.S. citizenship is required.)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Experience testing web based application software

·  Working knowledge of Windows 2000/XP operating system

·  Experience with automated test scripts

·  Familiarity with Air Force acquisition and acronyms

 

Amount of Travel: 0-10% (long distance)
