Nexus Energy Software is looking for a Senior User Experience Designer to join our expanding Product Management team.  We are looking for someone who will be comfortable supporting and extending existing designs as well as creating innovative and intuitive new user experiences from usability findings and design practices. You must be comfortable receiving feedback and collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team of Product Managers, Software Engineers and QA Engineers.

·  The primary responsibility of the position is to develop UI specifications from product requirements and deliver HTML templates to Engineering. 

·  Deliverables will include the following: user flow diagrams, wireframes, UI design mockups and prototypes that describe the user experience in detail.

·  The Senior UX Designer will work on ENERGYprism and Energy Vision products that are web-based applications ranging from customer self-service applications to complex analytical and visualization tools for the utility industry.

·  Responsible for managing the daily activities of two designers and an offshore HTML developer as needed for both product lines.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

·  A solid background in user-centered design.

·  The ability to explore and comprehend the needs of the end-user.

·  The drive to work on concurrent projects without sacrificing quality.

·  The analytical skills to design a complete user experience.

·  The attention to detail to thoroughly document UI specifications.Requirements:

·  Requires a Bachelors degree in Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science or related field

·  At least 5+ years of portal, e-commerce or enterprise level web application design experience.

·  Experience working with product management to define the user experience and deliver UI requirements to Engineering

·  Must possess solid working experience delivering wireframe design documents within short product cycles using Visio

·  Working experience designing high fidelity screen mockups for sales and client acceptance using tools like Photoshop or Illustrator

·  Extensive knowledge of HTML, CSS, Visio and Photoshop is required.

·  Experience with human factors principles and working knowledge of various usability methods including user personas, user flows and card sorting

·  Experience working with Engineering to develop a scalable, standards based and flexible UI architecture within a .NET environment

·  Experience designing content management user interfaces to manage dynamic content like marketing promotions

·  Solid working experience using stylesheets to create style patterns and meet branding strategy including resolving client header integration issues

·  Solid experience directing development of standards based, cross-browser HTML templates for Engineering deliverables

·  Experience with graphic design and/or managing vendors to produce web application image needs

 

·  Remain current in usability-related research and developments.

·  Strong oral and written communication skills. You must be able to communicate design ideas to the internal development and product management teams.

·  Functional knowledge of web development technologies including AJAX, DHTML and Javascript a plus

·  Basic understanding of technologies including .NET and XML

·  Special consideration will be given to candidates with energy service related experience as the position requires some understanding of complex systems.
