Senior C++ Software Engineer

Job SummaryThe MathWorks develops tools that generate embedded software from high-level graphical and textual programming environments. These tools are changing the way that engineers design embedded systems. Come be part of the model-based design revolution.

In this position you will be responsible for devising new ways of integrating graphical and textual programming environments for simulation, code generation, and verification.  Your work will have far-reaching effects and be highly visible.  Experience in compilers and model-based design will stand you in good stead.  Demonstrated software engineering skills, a penchant for abstraction, experience with massive code bases, an analytical bent of mind, and a love of hacking are required.

You will be expected to participate with enthusiasm in all stages of software design, coding, testing, and maintenance.


ResponsibilitiesDesign and produce specifications for new features and infrastructure work.Coordinate your work with affected teams Implement your recommendations in small teams or individually Provide code reviews. Write unit tests and coordinate the testing strategy with quality engineers Provide technical reviews of documentation. Mentor new team members. Continuously and creatively improve our processes. Refactor code aggressively to keep our code base maintainable. Promptly fix reported bugs.

QualificationsA Master's degree +3 years, or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related Engineering field. Demonstrated ability to dive into and work with massive code bases. At least 3 years of hard core C/C++ experience. Strong abstraction, algorithmic, and software architecture skills. Strong communications skills and a high energy-level.

Strong pluses: Experience with Simulink, MATLAB, and Real-Time Workshop. Compiler implementation experience.
