Principal Wireless Communications Engineer

Job SummaryJoin our Communications Development team to create tools that accelerate the development of next-generation wireless communication systems. Work directly with leading customers on pilot projects to integrate MathWorks tools into their design flows. The dual goal of this effort is to help the customers improve their design processes and to help The MathWorks define future product directions and priorities.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop tailored solutions and prototypes for strategic customers using MathWorks model-based design tools in wireless communications applications. Capture customer requirements to help marketing and development teams define new products and enhancements to existing products. Contribute to all aspects of the product development process, from writing functional specifications through to developing software features. Build application examples, with a focus on model-based design, fixed-point modeling, and automatic code generation.


QualificationsM.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. At least 5 years industry experience in communications engineering. In-depth experience in implementing signal processing and communications algorithms. C programming skills.

Experience in the following areas is a plus: Wireless communications standards. Embedded systems software. Systems integration. Fixed-point design. C++ and object-oriented programming. DSPs and FPGAs. MATLAB, Simulink, or Stateflow.
