C++ Software Engineer - Quickbooks Merchant Solutions - 60999
Intuit, the makers of QuickBooks, TurboTax and Quicken software, is looking for great people to join the QuickBooks Merchant Services engineering team. QuickBooks Merchant Services, part of Intuit’s Innovative Merchant Solutions (IMS) business unit, is one of the fastest growing businesses in QuickBooks' portfolio of small business offerings. The growth of the business requires expansion of the engineering team.
As a Senior Software Engineer on our fast paced team, you will design, develop and enhance merchant account service solutions within QuickBooks. You will be expected to grow into the role of technical expert for the core QuickBooks code base, acting as liaison with other QuickBooks and Merchant Services experts, to help our engineering teams achieve optimal results. This position will focus on implementing payment processing functions within the UI and business logic layer of QuickBooks.
In this role you will:
- Design, implement and maintain features based on business and technical requirements that are consistent with corporate architecture roadmaps and vision.
- Participate in peer reviews of design and code to verify adherence to standards and best practices as well as being open to the same review.
- Participate in the feature/product functional design process.
- Contribute towards improving product infrastructure, including usability, reusability, performance and maintainability .
- Participate in improving development processes.
Required:
- BSCS or equivalent degree
- 5+ years of commercial software development experience
- Solid experience using C++ and COM
- Comfortable with JavaScript, HTML, SQL (particularly Oracle), Visual Basic 6 and XML
- Excellent programming discipline: object oriented principles, design patterns, unit testing
- Experience in documenting all aspects of the development cycle
- "Self-starter" attitude and the ability to make decisions independently
- Strong teamwork skills. Must possess the ability to effectively and efficiently work in a cross-functional environment including Product Managers, User Experience and QA
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- A track record of successful collaboration with product marketing and cross-functional teams
Desired:
- Experience developing consumer-oriented shrink-wrap applications a plus
- Understanding of the accounting needs of small to medium sized businesses is a plus
- Exposure to C# and .NET is a plus
