Application Support Engineer
The Support Group at eScription has several new positions for Application Support Engineers. As our company continues to grow, we are looking for individuals that will help maintain our reputation for support excellence in the healthcare industry.
The Application Support Engineer is responsible for providing high-quality technical support for eScription software programs within enterprise-wide hospital systems across the US. This person will also work on other programming and documentation projects as required. This position encompasses all aspects of technical support for our customers and should not be considered a "Level I" support position. For entry-level applicants we are willing to train the right candidate.
Application Support Engineers deliver effective technical customer support to our rapidly growing customer base, delivering solutions to both technical and non-technical end users while also supporting a wide range of technologies, such as our cutting edge speech recognition software. Support Engineers are required to be on-call on a rotating basis throughout the year. The ability for occasional travel (less than 10%) within the US is a prerequisite.
We are specifically looking for someone who:
Excels in communication & Customer Service.Finds creative solutions to unique problems. Thrives when placed in challenging situations, and would rather leave his/her current job than be bored!Can break down complex problems, and give expert advice regarding eScription Software, via telephone and e-mailHas experience with most, if not all, of the following technologies: SQL, Unix/Linux command line environment, Shell Scripting, Networking, Java, Desktop Support, Telephony ApplicationsTakes ownership of technical issues, and works with the Development and Installation groups to resolve more advanced issues, when necessaryResolves escalated customer complaints without the need for team lead interventionDocuments troubleshooting and problem resolution steps as necessaryParticipates in providing training to customers as requiredWill maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office issues
An ideal candidate for this position would have a similar technical background or the aptitude to learn the following:
BS/BA in Computer Science, IT or equivalent fieldKnowledge of Windows 2000/2003, XP and general desktop support issuesKnowledge of MS Office, with emphasis on Word and ExcelExperience with any Linux / Unix operating system including shell scriptingRelational Database and SQL knowledge or the strong desire and aptitude to learnExperience in the Healthcare/Transcription industry is a plus
