Security Operations Engineer

Founded in 1946, Spherion is a national pioneer in the Technology Industry providing its clients with qualified temporary, contract and direct hire employees. Currently we are looking to fill a Security Operations Engineer position in Scottsdale (AZ). We need someone with knowledge and strong technical skills in the following areas: TCP/IP, firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, Cisco routers and switches and network administration tools and protocols.

 

As part of the Security Operations and Services team, the engineer will provide day-to-day monitoring, full analysts, reports and respond to computer security incidents. Must be able to work effectively alone or in a team environment, and work well when challenged and/ or under aggressive pressure. Must be flexible and respond positively to change as well as be available for bi-weekly on-call rotation 24x7. Must also possess strong analytical, and problem solving skills as well as the ability to produce clean concise diagrams/documentation.

 

5 years hand-on experience in related field and/or equivalent. Working knowledge with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in one or more areas of information security technology including authentication mechanisms, multilevel networks, malicious code detection, intrusion detection, firewalls, switches, routers, protection policies and security assessment.

 

* TCP/IP, Cisco PIX Firewall Technologies - Minimum 2 years experience

* Checkpoint Firewall Technologies is a plus

* Internet Security Systems IDS / IPS Technology

* Switching Technologies

* Strong knowledge of Routing Technologies (BGP & EIGRP)

* Load Balancing Technologies

* Proxy Technologies 

* Knowledge of the enterprises' information systems and architecture standards and how they apply to business functions/process, as-well-as the implications regarding hardware and software

* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate and influence across functional areas and all layers of the organization
