Programmer Analyst Assoc
Under immediate supervision, assists in research and fact-finding to develop or modify information systems. Analyzes business procedures and problems to develop specifications and convert them to application code.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Acquires general understanding of business areas supported to determine specific output requirements.
Participates in studies pertaining to existing data systems to evaluate effectiveness and develops new or modifies current systems to improve processes.
Codes, tests and debugs documents, provides training, installs and maintains programs.
Assists in planning and preparing documentation of the development and functioning of operational systems.
Prepares technical reports and instructional manuals.
Develops and reports against work plans with management review.
Applies current technology or researches and acquires new technical knowledge to complete assigned projects and resolve issues.
Participates in department and interdepartmental project teams and works cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization.
Acts as a liaison with users.
May provide on-call support during off-hours.
Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.
If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in computer science, business administration, MIS, mathematics or engineering, plus 0 to 1 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Computer skill requirements include: intermediate MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Ability to follow established procedures to perform tasks that are routine in nature, requiring some evaluation, originality or ingenuity.
Ability to demonstrate a moderate level of programming proficiency.
Ability to demonstrate strong initiative, self-motivation and commitment to the job.
Ability to acquire knowledge in other business areas.
Must possess a strong team building mindset.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Programmer Analyst-Associate is responsible for defining, designing, and implementing information systems solutions with a focus on supply chain planning. Provide ongoing support and enhancement for systems in the following areas: demand planning, finished goods inventory, bottling and deployment planning, materials requirements planning, master production scheduling, and product lifecycle management. Knowledge of planning systems, or Supply Chain theory desired. Ability to perform business analysis, meet with users, gather requirements, prepare use cases, develop functional specifications, write test scripts, perform system testing, and troubleshoot applications. Candidate must be able to work well individually and as a member of a team. Additional responsibilities include integrating systems with external applications such as J. D. Edwards and data warehouses. Prior experience, qualifications and/or skills desired include some experience in application development including J2EE, Java, WebSphere, JSP, HTML, Visual Basic, Oracle, and Information Builders WebFocus or the ability to quickly learn and embrace the desired technologies.
