Pre-Sales Systems Engineer

 Responsibilities:
Provide technical training to Quantum account executives, partners, and resellers to enable sales professionals to present Quantum products and services to prospects and customers.  Provide technical information to prospects and customers in support of specific sales opportunities.  Design storage solutions to enable account executives to make sales proposals to customers.  Document storage configurations to obtain Quantum approval of a customer purchase order.  Coordinate Quantum corporate and field resources to resolve technical problems for customers and prospects.  Project manages professional services engagements.  This individual will be part of a team that is responsible for the sales support of various automation products, primarily in a SAN or NAS environment.  Data Center Operations.  Ability to provide onsite product and technical support for named accounts and site escalations, where requiredRequirements:Experience in network design, high-end primary and secondary storage systems, systems management, and enterprise system architecture.  5+ years supporting sales personnel in a distributed environment.  3+ years working a secondary storage network(DAS/SAN/NAS) environment as a design or system engineer.  A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline is required.  Masters degree preferred.Demonstrable knowledge of:  Various computer platforms and oeprating systems: NT, W2K, Solaris, AIX, HP-US, IRIX, Linux.  Various connectivity options: SCSI (HVD, LVD), fibre channel (AL, fabric), TCP/IP.  Storage applications: backup/resore, archive, HSM, Replication, clustering.  Storage devices: tape, disk, automation (LTO, DLT, SDLT, AIT, 9840).  Networking components: bridges, switches, HBA's.Quantum is an equal opportunity employer.
