Job Description
An experienced IT Administrator / Technical Consultant is needed for an established and growing company located in Fresno, CA. We need a pro to work on internal projects as well as consult for our growing customer base.
This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the network infrastructure and related services, including implementation, administration, system monitoring, hardware repair/replacement and technical support for multiple companies in the greater Fresno area.
The desired candidate must be a self-starter with minimal management oversight and possess a willingness to research various ways to improve and grow the current infrastructure environment while minimizing cost and improving company efficiencies with little downtime and disturbance to company functions.

Ability to build, configure, install and update servers, network operating systems, hubs, tape backup units, routers, DSL modems, network printers, fax machines, scanners, phone systems and other infrastructure-related equipment, services, utilities and applicationsAbility to administer and manage groups, user accounts, printer queues, access control, permissions, directory structures and other account management related adds, moves and changes to Microsoft Windows Active Directory, server file structures, remote access, and other infrastructure-related services in accordance with security policies, best practices and standard proceduresProvide initial response, problem diagnosis and emergency triage support to Internet connectivity, network, server, data center, wireless, remote access, firewalls, tape backup and voice-related troubleshooting & security incidents, outages, performance issues and disaster mitigationManage, track, and maintain upgrade/renewal schedules and inventory lists (e.g. passwords, domain name registrations, assets, IP address assignments, port assignments, etc.) and technical support contact informationMust be a fast starter, independent worker and have a ‘get it done’ attitudeAble to do some heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) to install/setup servers and workstationsMust be willing to work ‘on-call’ for emergencies including supporting users in all US time zonesAuthorized to work in the United States
Skills:Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WINSTechnical expertise with applications like IIS, SQL, Veritas Backup, Symantec Mail Security/SPAM/AVExperience in scalable network planning, disaster recovery, backup/restore of production systems and IPSEC VPN usage and configurationExperience managing Microsoft Exchange environment including installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting and performance tuningExperience administering PBXs, VOIP and voicemail for NEC Aspire systemsExperience utilizing imaging software (such as Ghost) to develop standard images of desktop and laptop configurations in order to set up and deploy new desktop and laptop systems in a timely mannerKnowledge of management of Microsoft SQL Server environment and tuning MS SQL Servers for optimal performanceMCSE, MCSA, CCNA or equivalent experienceSome UNIX experience
Recommended:Some Unix ExperienceLinux OS and web system experience, and command line knowledge.Cpanel Management skillsPHP and MySql experience
Pay: Position will be an outside consulting position that pays for billable hours. $40 - $50 per hour based on experience.
