Overview: Axium International (www.axium.com), a leading entertainment and corporate payroll outsourcing company is seeking a Junior Software Engineer (Java Swing) in our Los Angeles location. Individuals should possess a strong Java and Swing background and an excellent grasp of object orientated concepts and design patterns.
Skills/Requirements:
Professional Qualifications4+ years of Java development2+ years in elaborate Java Swing Application development2+ years of JDBC based application developmentExperience with ANT building tools Experience with Java IDE development environment (Eclipse preferred)Experience with Source Control Systems (VSS, CVS, …)Experience with XML parsing and handlingExcellent understanding of object oriented concepts and design patterns
Qualifications that are a plus to have:Experience with Web Services (Apache Axis)Experience with Hibernate and HSQL, caching strategies Experience with LDAPExperience with Jasper ReportsExperience with load testing and performance tuning of Java applications (OptimizeIt).Entertainment Production Budgeting and Scheduling ExperienceRational Unified Process (RUP) and UMLExperience with IOC (Spring, Hivemind) or ESB
Responsibilities:The engineer is responsible for the maintenance and future enhancements of the Budgeting and Scheduling application. Duties include software development with Java Swing, code reviews with peers, architectural designs, and QA interaction for the successful completion of software releases. The engineer will work under the Team Lead’s guidance.
NOTE: Axium will not cover relocation expenses.
