POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, complete routine and non-routine maintenance and repair duties at the corporate operations center. Duties include plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance and repair. Assist in providing efficient and cost-effective facilities operations services, and highly responsive internal customer service.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNTIONS:

Strive to provide services in a timely and cost-effective manner, and in accordance with established service quality levels. Perform routine and non-routine building maintenance and repair duties for corporate headquarters including but not limited to replacing light bulbs, clearing minor stoppages in toilets and sinks, adjusting thermostats, painting, and cleaning building perimeter surfaces. Trouble shoot minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry issues, and coordinate repairs with building engineer or outside vendor as appropriate. Maintain engineering spaces and building equipment and supply inventories. Perform general labor, including carrying, stacking and sorting of materials and equipment used in and around the building. Utilize a work order system for assigning on-call and unscheduled services. Maintain inventory for required operational materials, MSDS sheets, tools, and equipment. Prepares correspondence and reports related to project progress, cost and/or implementation requirements.

OTHER POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Assist with special projects as assigned by the Administrative Services Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma, and two to three years experience in general maintenance and repairs in a commercial office building of 65,000+ square feet, specifically in the areas of electrical, plumbing, and general carpentry. Working knowledge of hand and power tool use, application, and safe operating practices. Knowledge of building operations terminology, practices, laws, rules, and regulations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of Credit Union staff and management, as well as external vendors, service representatives, and delivery persons. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, sufficient to produce accurate and grammatically correct correspondence and reports and to represent the Credit Union in a professional manner. Ability to successfully troubleshoot minor electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues within a commercial office building. Skill in prioritizing assignments when there are changes in workload and/or competing deadlines. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Ability to work overtime as required to complete projects in accordance with established deadlines and to be available on-call for after-hours emergencies. Ability to comply with Credit Union standards, policies, and procedures, and to set a positive example regarding standards and compliance. A valid California driver’s license, proof of insurance and a favorable driving record suitable to meet current Credit Union insurance rating requirements are required.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Skill in operating a PC in a Windows environment preferred, including the ability to use Microsoft Outlook and automated building systems software.
